Creating Your First Android App

You do not have to be a coding protégé to be successful in creating your first Android app. If you understand how a website works (very basic HTML), you can create an app using several different tools along with a little bit of instruction. We will walk through several development tools and introductory coding that I use with 8th graders to create their first app. This session is not limited to techies! For the hands-on part, you will need a laptop, as tablets may not be able to run software. We will use Eclipse as the compiler, so you may want to download a copy at http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/ "

Please make sure your computer has Chrome browser (recommended) and updated Java for this session
Updated Java can be at (http://java.com/en/download/help/download_options.xml)
