Cloud-based Multiplatform Simulation for Learning & Teaching of Math, Physics, Technology and Electronics

In this session, we will demonstrate how on-line, multi-platform simulation can be used to enhance the learning and teaching of math, physics, technology and electronics. Our approach will be presented through 3 cloud-based computer programs, available at Chrome Web Store, running on PCs, Macs, Chromebooks, thin clients, tablets, even on many smart phones, smart TVs and e-book readers, in more than 20 languages.

Participants will get a 1-year free online subscription to the selected software.

GEBRACloud is a software tool that provides a new way of learning and teaching mathematics by helping students in problem solving. It not only solves problems but can also help students at any phase of their individual work, checking their solution step-by-step, and providing hints or part of solutions when needed. GebraCloud also includes plotting of 2D & 3D functions and comes with over 400 assignments from different areas of math that teachers and students can use immediately.

EDISONCloud is a unique new learning environment for electricity and electronics. Teachers and students can use virtual electronic components, virtual instruments and animation to create, test, troubleshoot and safely repair circuits. Lifelike 3D components captivate the students as they build circuits and simultaneously see the corresponding circuit schematic.

TINACloud is a powerful simulation and design software featuring also remote measurement capabilities for the teaching and learning of analog and digital electronics. Students can solve problems either in the lab or at home and the teacher can monitor and evaluate the result. This is an extremely useful feature for distance education. 

About the presenter:
Dr. Mihaly (Michael) Koltai received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from Budapest University of Technology and Economics in 1973 and 1978 respectively. After graduation he became a lecturer in the Department of Electromagnetic Theory, teaching circuit theory, electromagnetic field theory, and related computer techniques.
In 1992, Dr. Koltai founded DesignSoft, a software company which has become one of the world’s leading developers of educational and engineering software.
