Self-managed student portfolios

Wouldn't it be great if every student had a suitcase full of their learning experiences? Reflection, identity, evidence, and presentation would always be close at hand.

Artefacts of learning are increasingly digital and dispersed. If students don't keep track of them they can be virtually lost forever.
International students move from country to country, school to school. We understand the efficacy of student portfolios, but when different platforms prevent transfer, how useful are they? For portfolios to be enduring and transformative, they should be student owned and managed. Google Sites are ideal homes for a surprisingly vast array of student content and organization.
